Launched in 1995, the Gift for Life Block Walk® is a unique door-to-door outreach program that takes breast cancer education directly into the Black community. Through the affiliate chapters of Sisters Network® Inc., (SNI), the community-focused program allows SNI members and volunteers to canvas door-to-door in Black communities to distribute breast health education brochures, resource information, and pink ribbons. Following the Gift for Life Block Walk, the community is invited to a local event site to meet survivors, hear their stories, and learn about this breast cancer triumph. Free 3D mammograms are also offered by a medical facility mobile unit in partnership with Sisters Network® Inc. affiliate chapters.
